the much (and looonnnnng) awaited blog has finally arrived!!!! muahahah!

man..... first time ever writing a blog, so ppl.... this is my "virgin" blog..... :D

hopefully i don't screw it up! :P

15th April 2007: Convocation "Class of 2007" (which I think is more apt if it's 2006 though)

well anyway, firstly about me... I woke up at about 7.45, getting ready and stuff to head of to ade's place, then cw, my, ade and I will go off from sentral to Shangri-la to attend our convo, and we're supposed to leave at about 9.30 like that....

MANA TAU....when i reach ade's place at about 9.10, i called her on her cell and...

dctt : hello, you still sleeping arh?
och,a : uhhhh (sleepy voice)
dctt : -_-"
och,a : you come in larh...
dctt : ok (of course i'm going in larh! ah boh..... :P)

*lmy, why did i even suggest i write a blog?! i don't even know how to write one! ><

well anyway, kcw then went to fetch lmy from her house then they came to sentral, reached at about 9.45? then after bout 5 mins we left for shangri-la.
and that och, a so 'mm song' that we are going so early....(we're supposed to reach the hotel at 10).....so i think it's just ngam ngam hou that we are leaving about then.

initially she was supposed to fetch lmy and i to the hotel and kcw will go with his parents, but then the plan changed, so kcw fetched us instead. and och, a's plan was that i reach at about 9.45 at sentral then go pick lmy THEN only go to the hotel. can you imagine what time we would have reached there if we followed her plan?! and our photo session is at about 11. and she wants to leave so de 'early' -_-"

anyway, we reached there about 10.10? can't remember, and the lobby was packed!!! all of them were robed and stuff already, and ade went "WAH!! and i thought we would be the earliest!" ritee.......hahaha

i was super 'kap' at that time, kcw as well, so when we reached the lobby of the hotel, the first thing we did was to search for the toilet...
after "relieving" ourselves, we went to register lorh....then we decided to start getting ready and went to 'robe ourselves'...
and we spent about 30 - 45 mins trying to put the stupid thing on and getting ourselves ready! hahaha! thank goodness we arrived EARLY..... :D

then after hanging around at the lobby for a while, it was our turn for the UoL graduands to take the group photo

then once we were done taking the photo, we went out, and there they were! kcw's parents! then they started taking a couple of photos

not long after that, lmy and och, a started crying for hunger..... :P
since lmy and och, a didn't have any breakfast. kcw was smart though, he had a bowl of curry mee and something else for breakfast!
and there i thought they were gonna serve us refreshments before the ceremony starts, but then i realized i was mistaken.

and since if we don't eat 'now', then....we'll have to wait until 4 (we will by then be starved) becuase the ceremony's supposed to end at 4, and only then they'll serve the refreshments.
so we started to look for food, and found out that the hotel was selling sandwiches.
then we 'phook mai hui' to the place where they were selling the sandwiches....
and when we reached there, we found at that the stuppidddd sandwiches was RM12! MADNESS I tell you...!!! for two slices of bread!

then we were going on about 'buy? don't buy? buy? don't buy?' next to kcw's parents...
then they of course saw us like a bit 'sam thong' wanna buy a sandwich for RM TWELVE....then kcw's mum ended up buying us one

thanks aunty! haha

then wat happened arh?

oh yeah, och, a's parents came....! then she went to greet her parents and introduced them to kcw's parents....awwww...... :D
and started taking 'family' photos already....hehehe!

soon after that, lmy's mum came!
damn semangat i tell you her mum....so eager to take photos.....so excited...!! more excited then lmy herself...hahaha

then about 12.30 my parents reached the hotel already, but then we had to go in the hall alraedy for a 'rehearsal'.....in front of all the guests and parents....wth.... -_-"

so i went in first and only met up with them after i went up the stage and got the 'cert'...which there is none actually, cause we have already taken ours about a month before today's convo....so it was just a piece of A4 paper stating that we can collect our "testamur" already, which is in fact our cert (the A4 paper was in a red folder thingy with help's name on it, the words are in gold colour)

and there were just so many speeches before the whole ceremony started....usual larh...boredom soon fell on us....and the 'zar dou' part was that all the speeches can be found in the programme book! wth, wat's the whole point of the speech?! damn.

oh and before that, they had this grand entrance for all the chancellors from all the unis. as well as the academics from HELP and they were playing this music....supposed to be damn grand konon....but yuck...sux wei....hahaha
it lasted for at least 5 minutes...and they did the same thing after the ceremony was over......-_-""""

then about 20 or so minutes, it was the UoL's graduates to go up the stage and receive our "scroll"

the ceremony was pretty fast larh, ended about 3.15 liddat i think, better than expected.

after that we got out from the ballroom, and was searching for the lings and mock, and we found them! (of course) and they were holding oh so cute soft toys (especially DO-RA-AE-MO-NN~~~), they are the kind where the soft toys are wearing the mortar board and the graduation gown, wrapped in bouquet style! very cuteee!! THANKS PPL!!! :D

then we hang about a bit, and proceeded to a 'spot' next to this staircase cause there were not so many people there, the rest of the area was packed! cause they were serving the refreshments already.

then it was also time for the FCs to attend a press interview.... and migoodness.... it took them AGES to come out from wherever they were from that SUPER LONG interview.
donno what crap they can ask wan, so long! i think they were in that interview for about 30-45 minutes or so....

so the rest of us waited for them cause we wanted to take more pix...hehe

so when they FINALLY came out from the interview, we quickly took photos and even went back to the ballroom to take, went up to the stage to take several photos.

after finishing taking photos, kcw was caught (again) by the press wanting to do interview, and so he went. but he came out again pretty fast.

then it was time for all of us to go home and go to wherever anyone else had planned to go!

so ppl, that's the end of the convo day :D

About the press conference...
Actually few days before the convo, CW got a call from HELP saying he will receive some special "HELP 21st Anniversary Award" and there will be some press interview that he has to attend... So we thought it was only CW..

After the ceremony in the grand ballroom, CW went off for the press conference and then came back a few minutes later saying that they also wanted me there...
The conference was held in this small meeting room with this huge rectangular meeting table for us to sit at.. The other FCs from other courses were there as well...

So when i went in with CW, we saw the bunch of important ppl (Paul Chan, Rosemary, guest-of-honour, etc...) seated at one end of the table, with the other FCs seated next to them.. Then some guy that was in charge wanted the UOL FCs to sit next to the important ppl, so asked those UEL FCs to get up and sit elsewhere (hahahaha.. poor them :p).. But it was most likely cos the guest of honour for the event is the vice-chancellor of UOL..

Then before the press conference started, the press wanted a group pic, with all uni FCs standing behind the important ppl. Then they actually wanted only the UOL FCs to stand behind for another photo (haha.. poor UEL again :p)

Anyway, the press conference was a real waste of time for us if you ask me.. the FCs were more like "kelefe" there... all the questions were directed at the important ppl, and i think we were just there to make up the numbers and appear in photographs...

Btw, KCW appeared in HELP's newspaper advert.. hehehe... i will scan it here soon... hahaha...
